This piece tries to capture the density of a crowd using an empty room and make images that normally flood us visible through omission. In the middle of the room stands a big, cube of wood that can be entered through only one entrance. The entire cube is lined with white paper. 40 people spent one hour in this room together. They left their marks through their physical presence. The viewer encounters the situation afterwards. After the first impression of emptiness they realise that the room is full of signs of wear. The cube is a picture, a kind of crime scene intended to lead to a further series of images in the mind, to the hard to place feeling that something happened here. At an earlier point in time it held a crowd. Now it is empty and only holding the crowds’ remnants, visible as well as invisible “impressions” which are supposed to re-create themselves through association. At the centre there is the contrast between density and emptiness, as well as the ambivalent relationship between the individual and the crowd.

marks like fingerprints on the wall, made visible through vaseline on paper, the recorded sounds entering the room through 8 speakers sourrounding the space and the warmth and humidity created trough body warmth of the people.
